“So that when I look up at the night sky and I know that yes, we are part of this universe, we are in this universe, but perhaps more important than both of those facts is that the Universe is in us. When I reflect on that fact, I look up – many people feel small because they’re small and the Universe is big – but I feel big, because my atoms came from those stars. There’s a level of connectivity. That’s really what you want in life, you want to feel connected, you want to feel relevant you want to feel like a participant in the goings on of activities and events around you. That’s precisely what we are, just by being alive…” Neil Degrasse Tyson
Snow brings such a peace with it. A quite and reference, like the world is taking a deep, calming breath or watching a baby sleep. As I lay my tobacco this morning I placed my hand on this little pine (maybe a Ponderosa? ) I gave thanks for the snow, the spirit’s reminders to me of their presence, the ability to be reminded to make offerings in this way, gratitude for my guardians, talents, and friends. I’ve been wanting to stay longer and longer outside with my offering and breathing..listening. Not listening with expectation, but just being present. ..like with a good friend or a beloved, sometimes just hearing their breath is enough and you want it to last forever… I feel this is a good sign.
