Just thought I would list a few of my favorite Celtic/Celtic influences bands here….
Kila (rather strange ecclectic band but really enjoyable. Very new)
Peatbog Faeries (very mixed Celtic techno, if you will)
Lunasa (slightly more traditional instrumental must but still very modern)
Cherish the Ladies (traditional balads and instrumental pieces)
Nickel Creek (an Appalachian inspired band with Chris Thile ( I have to admit I have a MAJOR crush on him…)and Sean and Sarah Watkins bringing an intense lifetime of musical experience to each CD. I’ve been obsessed with them for a long, long time. )
The Irish Rovers ( Legends… along with the Chieftains)
The Clancy Brothers (songs of rebellion and drinking…go together eh?)
Flogging Molly (gods bless ’em…Rebels of the sacred heart from Drunken Lullabies is STILL one of my favorite songs after loving this band for nearly 4 years. One of the best bands to see live(thanks Ben :D) …and I used to review bands for a living…more of a punkish sound but they still keep it trad.)
Of course I could never list all the incredible Celtic bands that I love but here are just a few….ENJOY! (makes suggestions too!)
