6/22 Journal

June 22, 2013 1 comment Article ADF Meditation Journal, ADF Notebook

So after yesterday’s solstice silver find I noticed they really needed to be cleaned before I implemented them in daily use on my alter. You can’t show up with tarnished silver for the shinning ones! But nobody likes to scrub silver right? and silver polish is kinda spendy so in this house we use SCIENCE!  So I grabbed the white vinegar, a bit of salt, baking soda, hot water and tinfoil. I plopped them in a pot at waited about 15 minutes and ta DA! Clean silver with no scrubbing.

Over the past few days I’ve also noticed how less cluttered my altar has become. I now have only what I need, which affects my practice. I can sit down without fussing with unnecessaries. I’ve simplified and today it made it much easier to hear the words of the spirits I feel.

I used the morning meditation I created a few days ago and then sate down for 6 minutes. Today I chose to try the Two Powers meditation along with my breathing. I saw my roots grow and wind their way deep down into the earth. Far into the center of the world they went where the blue flame of the underworld resides. I see this flame as a bonfire, blue and cool in temperature, in a large cave that looks like a cathedral. Here the ancestors and honored dead reside. This blue flame comes from the teachings of Orion Foxwood and I’ve yet to find a better visual for myself so I’m keeping it. 😉 My roots encircle the blazing fire and take in the blue flame….as I breathe the flame moves up my roots into my body and up to my heart. It fills it like my blood fills it but with the power of the underworld and the blessing of the dear spirits.

I feel the flame settle in my heart and then begin to grow my branches from my head. Far they reach into the sky, past the moon and stars and to our beloved star, the sun. They are not burned and reach to envelope the power of the star of life, intertwining with the flares and tendrils of the sun. Nestled in the cosmos, this is the home of the shinning ones. A sacred place. A warm, comforting power is felt from our star and I breathe it into my branches. The golden, white light moves from the tips of my branches and down towards earth with every breath I take. Down it moves into my body and mixes with the blue flame of the underworld in my heart.

My flaming heart is now the crucible for these two powers, mixing and churning still with each breath. They now change and turn into a brilliant green. The color of our earth and trees. The color of a joyous heart. This green is now breathed around my entire being, pulsing and growing into and all around me. I breathe the power of this alchemy until I can stand no more.

I then breathe back this power into a comforting second skin, then retract the roots with gratitude. My meditation bells sound and I use the Seer’s prayer ( by Orion Foxwood) to close my practice.

With Love, Wisdom and Silent Power,

May the Will of the Ancient Ones be made manifest,

Now and Forever.

This prayer comes with gestures that add a wonderful feeling to the words. from a Namaste postition I open my hands and ask the dear spirits, the ancestors and the shinning ones for an omen this day. To use these cards and their lips so that I might hear the message of blessings they desire to communicate with me.  I then drew my omen and the spirits saw fit to remind me of the Prince of Pentacles again. Patience and diligence will win out. Breathe.
